Maths Challenges!

Problem solving is central to our teaching to mastery principles – this develops pupils’ understanding of why something works so that they truly have an appreciation of what they are doing rather than just learning to repeat routines without grasping what is happening.

On this page you will find maths challenges which will be uploaded every few weeks for you to try at home. The challenges have been taken from the NRICH website, on which you will find a plethora of other mathematical activities to really get you thinking! Below, you will find three levels of challenge; one for EYFS, one for ages 5-7 and one for ages 7-11. Have a go and bring your completed work into school, or send your class Teacher a photo of your work via Class Dojo!
