Class Teacher - Miss L Neary

Welcome to Ash Class!

Hello, I am Miss Neary, the class teacher to 16 wonderful children. When you enter our classroom, be prepared to be shocked at all the hard work that takes place. Year 2 is a very busy but fun filled year.  We combine working hard with learning in exciting and hands on ways.

Year 2 is an exciting year during which the children build upon their knowledge and skills from Year 1.  The progress the children make throughout the year is amazing!  I am always astounded and proud of the quality and amount of work that the children produce.

Many of you will be aware that during May, Year 2 children sit their SATs, which is a government requirement. Please do not worry about these.  We do these in a fun way and the children do not realise they have even completed them. However, we will have a meeting for parents in the Spring Term to give you further information.

Our themes this year have been:

Getting to know you.

Remember, remember.

Blue planet.

Once upon a time.

The great outdoors and finally

Beside the seaside.

Within these themes we try to give children a whole view of the topic by combining learning of History, Geography, Science, Design and Technology, Art and PSHE.  We also try to enhance the children's learning by including trips and visitors where possible.

I hope you enjoy looking at our photos showing just how fantastic Ash Class are!

This week's stars are... Teo and Layla! Well done.
